Report on Celebration of Earth Day as Plantation Day

Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya (GIHSM), in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April 2026 with great enthusiasm by organizing a Plantation Drive within the campus premises.
The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to take responsibility for protecting and nurturing nature. A large number of students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the activity.
The programme began with a brief address highlighting the significance of Earth Day and the urgent need to adopt sustainable practices. Following this, participants engaged in planting saplings in designated areas across the campus. Students worked together with full zeal and dedication, symbolizing unity towards a greener and healthier environment.
Various plants and saplings were planted to enhance greenery and contribute to ecological balance. The initiative not only helped in beautifying the campus but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among the participants.
The event concluded with a message emphasizing that small steps like planting trees can lead to significant positive changes for the planet. The celebration successfully reinforced the idea that “Our Earth, Our Responsibility.”
