Safe Roads Start With You: Workshop on Road Safety

Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya, Lucknow organized a workshop on road safety awareness on 13th February, 2024. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Radhey Shyam Singh, Traffic Inspector from the City Traffic Police Department. 140 students from BBA and B. Com (Hons.) and 10 faculties attended the workshop.
The workshop commenced at 11 AM in the college auditorium. Principal Dr. Santosh Pandey welcomed the gathering and introduced Mr. Radhey Shyam Singh to the students. The Speaker began his session by highlighting recent road accident statistics and underscoring the importance of road safety. He educated the students about basic traffic rules like obeying speed limits, zebra crossings, traffic signals, and no drunk driving policies. He shared real-life case studies from Japan and examples from their experiences, illustrating the consequences of negligence on the road. These anecdotes added a personal touch to the seminar, making the information more relatable for the audience. He also educated students regarding fines and penalties to the students for various misconducts on road.
The workshop enhanced the awareness and understanding of students on road safety standards and codes of conduct. They gained useful insights on safe driving practices to follow. It equipped them to become informed citizens who adopt prudent road behaviors and motivate others to do so as well.
