Gender Workshop and Certificate Felicitation Ceremony

Gender workshop and certificate felicitation ceremony was organized on 25th March’23 for Level 1 girls of Sarthak Resilience Incubator program. It was organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Work, Lucknow University. Ms. Bhawna (Project Head, SRI) welcomed girls. She congratulated the girls for completing their certificate courses. then briefly explained the flow of the event thereafter inviting Mr. Achintya and Ms. Shivangi to begin session on the topic of Sexual Harassment and she talked about different types of sexual harassment that one faces in their day-to-day life. She explained that sexual harassment mainly stems from sexism that means-an attitude of a person of one sex that he or she is superior to a person of the other sex. Sexual harassment can be both verbal and non verbal. She asked some survey questions followed by playing two short videos. Both activities helped in building more clarity about sexual harassment.
Before moving on to the felicitation ceremony, girls filled their responses in endline and feedback forms.
Mr. Himanshu Gautam (CEO, Co-Founder, Safalta), Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhartiya (HOD, Department of Social Work, LU) and Prof. Sudhir Mehrotra (HOD, Department of Biochemistry, LU) joined as guests. Ms. Kshama Hastak presented them bouquets after which they all did lamp lighting.
Ms. Bhawna welcomed all the guests and invited them to launch the three booklets which have been created and developed by Sarthak Foundation. The booklets contain useful information and aid in making one aware on the topics of gender, government policies and financial literacy. A set of these booklets were distributed to the girls
Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhartiya spoke on the importance of conducting workshops on gender awareness. He emphasized upon being self-aware so as to be able to raise voice against any form of gender violence. Prof. Sudhir Mehrotra congratulated the girls and welcomed them to pursue professional courses from Lucknow University. He presented data of girl students enrolled in different courses. He also added that in past years 80% of the gold medalists are girls. Finally, it was a moment of celebration as the guests along with project trainers started felicitating certificates to the sarthak girl. . All sarthak girls from Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya have successfully Completed their courses and received their certificates. Ms. Kshama Hastak (Founder, Sarthak Foundation) thanked the guests for their presence and useful insights and girls for making Sarthak Resilience Incubator program a success.
