Speech Competition on Road Safety Awareness
Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya, Lucknow organised speech competition on 22nd Nov, 2023 on Road Safety Awareness by the Department of Commerce. The theme of the competition was आधुनिक भारत में सड़क सुरक्षा: राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परिदृश्य. Road safety is a shared responsibility that requires concerted efforts from individuals, communities, and governments. The event aimed to encourage participants to express their thoughts and insights on the critical issue of road safety in the contemporary context, both at the national and international levels.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students advocating for road safety. Participants were required to deliver speeches in Hindi, reflecting their understanding of the challenges and solutions concerning road safety in the modern era with 5 mins time limit. The speeches were evaluated based on criteria such as content, clarity of expression, relevance to the theme, and overall presentation. The winners were selected based on their ability to articulate compelling arguments and present viable solutions to the challenges of road safety.
Harshit Upadhyay secured first position, Arushi Tiwari was runners-up and Sagun Singh was first runners-up, all hailing from B. Com I Year.
The insights shared by participants contributed to fostering a collective understanding of the challenges and solutions, both at the national and international levels. The success of the competition indicates a growing consciousness about the need for concerted efforts to address the complex issue of road safety in the modern era.
