OBC Welfare Cell:-

The OBC Welfare focuses on the Objective,Mission, Vision and Minutes of meeting to conduct the various activities in a proper form. Following are given below:-

Vision –To be an assisting institution of encouragement to the progressive works of OBC Students of GIHSM through continually responding to the changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centered and ecologically sustainable society that promotes and protects the dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all, with special emphasis on marginalized and vulnerable groups with special focus on OBC Students.

Mission- In pursuance of its vision and guiding principles, the Goel Institute of higher studies Mahavidyalaya organizes teaching programmes to facilitate the development of competent and committed professionals for practice higher level of learning develops and disseminates knowledge; and reaches out to the larger community through extension, at the local, national, regional and international levels.

OBJECTIVE
• To collect reports and information regarding the Government of India and the UGC orders on various
aspects of education, training and employment of OBC.
• To circulate Government of India orders and UGC’s decisions and to collect information in respect of
appointing, training these communities in teaching and non-teaching posts in the college. To help them
apply for post within the college a stipulated date and take follow up action where required.
• To collect statistics on OBC students and employees.
• To monitor the working of the remedial coaching scheme in the college for OBC students.
• To function as a Grievances Redressal cell for the Grievances of OBC students including minority
students and employees.

Activities of the OBC welfare Cell:-

OBC welfare cell organized various activities some are as following
1. Career Fair @ College.
2. Campus Placement Training Program for the OBC students of final year students.
3. Communication Skill Development Classes by OBC Cell.
4. Conducted SOFT SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAM for the non-Teaching staff of the Institute through OBC Cell.
5. Language classes are arranged for students to improve communication skills and proficiency of language;
6. A program on ‘Personality Development’ is conducted;
7. Computer classes are arranged to enhance their skills in operating the computer.
8. Remedial/co-curricular classes are conducted in the various areas depending upon the students’ interest:
9. Skill workshops for use of the library, writing an assignment, making presentation in class, public speaking, job selection and job interviews,
10. Coaching in basic subjects such as social research and field work recordings, and Orientation on
scholarships available for higher studies
11. GIHSM facilitate industrial visit to coca-cola Safedafad and AMUL Industries learn input -output process.
12. State government Scholarship is given
13. Reservation policy is strictly adhered to in the admission
14. Remedial coaching is provided
15. Peer learning – Meritorious students asked to help the slow learners
16. Remedial classes are organized for such slow learners.
17. Training development programme are organized by TCS
18. Awareness about the government scheme for OBCs students
19. Exposure of OBCs student to other institution of higher learning/corporate/business houses
a) Interactive classes of various faculties from different college, university.
b) Industrial visits are arranged by GIHSM
